Eh! That aside, this sequel to your earlier blog on the same subject calls for the male gender with those adventurous groins to ponder on the *other side* as well as you so very brilliantly put it.

Yes, Europe's nudist beaches are an open invite to these chauvinists, but I assure you, not one waggles in those premises. No notion, even remote, of an adventure in the premises of rape bothers the *it* in those places. Now, whether an overdose, an abundance of scenic spoils the enthusiasm of *it* remains a larger question to ponder.

But, in the Indian perspective, I reckon it is more of a curiosity emanating from 'scarcity' augmented by the male chauvinistic stigma of supremacy that stirs trouble. It gets further amplified due to the absolute lack of any 'punishment' granted to the predator. On the contrary, the victim is put through hell not just physically and psychologically but by the gossiping society at large. An affluent predator with his money could appoint a loquacious lawyer who would strip the poor victim with abrasive questions that would destabilize her sanity. Mostly, it is the fear of this that inhibits the victims approaching the hands of law for justice. It is very seldom that the victims have dared the law and brought about the hungry prick to rest! Why, recently there was uproar in Kerala when a prurient Minister's irascible right hand found its way in between the front seats of the commercial aircraft he was flying feeling the mammary glands of an IAS lady officer sitting ahead. That she did not get up and SLAP him in public is wholly her fault. As pointed earlier, such inaction provides enough motivation to attempt further.

In this case as is with the several other cases, sensible justice remains distant. In the absence of any punishment, verbatim repeats of rape, prodding, abusing, eve teasing, glaring and so forth with remain an amusement among that class of sickly men. From religious dignitaries, politicians, elitists, middle-class down to the street vagabond, the fatal instigation to grapple, grab, feel, squeeze and rape remains fundamentally a possible hoopla! A deterrence of a magnitude that would render the predator's prick useless for the rest of his life needs to be enacted to provide some credible safety to women from this menace.

Hope something like that gets enforced. Meantime, an excellent fulmination indeed!!! As usual, hats off Mataji!prashhanthkpphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02813673452332214491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1725496235293424983.post-44050615037659197162012-01-12T01:14:52.431-08:002012-01-12T01:14:52.431-08:00Its well written with a clear message. I think that law must ensure from all angles that man being punished for rape is not innocent and then punished exemplary so to spread a word, what it means.

Regarding cloths, my opinion is that the same must go with occasion, one is at; no matter male or female.DALJEET SINGHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00074575033286436789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1725496235293424983.post-46358535667817499072012-01-11T06:10:58.036-08:002012-01-11T06:10:58.036-08:00Thumbs Up.Thumbs Up.Rahul Krishnan Unnikrishnan Salinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05258601623885512701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1725496235293424983.post-14913760145886111832012-01-11T05:09:07.901-08:002012-01-11T05:09:07.901-08:00Rape is a one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, ...Rape is a one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, social psychological malice that the society is faced with. in our Indian society in general and if i can take my views a little further, then perhaps the rapes are more in urban centres than rural areas (i am not sure about this ; a conjecture).
why does it happen - of course not because of the clothes worn by the woman. it happens because of some sick psychological problem or a feeling of extreme masculinity (mera kaun kya bigad lega). besides, in India with sex , as a tattoed topic, it creates more yearning to know about it. men start hunting and when refused or even worse, spurned by the girl. the "hurt male ego" often decides that rape is the only "medicine" to cure the girl of her superiority complex.
moreover, another very sad and yet unreported issue, acc to me , is the marital rape. Indian women, many times, face this from their own husbands but don't report out of shame.

regarding the eve teasing, fondling, again it is the perception that she is meant to serve the needs. a human being is replaced by an object. of course, dressing is personal choice though yes sometimes dressing might provoke people to act fresh with the girls.
all said & done, this malice can be taken care of only if the rapists r severely punished. a time to empower the women (but as long as many of the girls too don't misuse the power to their advantage and blame an innocent guy, that too happens).

as usual a well written piece ma'am. kudos.Jaideepbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07008906295349203008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1725496235293424983.post-6268624424759455342012-01-11T01:11:44.455-08:002012-01-11T01:11:44.455-08:00I think when a person has been found guilty of rap...I think when a person has been found guilty of rape he should be castrated.
